Truro area celebrates June as tennis month in Canada
June is Tennis Month in Canada with more than 100 registered events taking place
across the country throughout June. Tennis Month aims to inspire people of all ages
and abilities across the country to participate in fun tennis events in their communities.
The Truro area is blessed with two great tennis facilities for the public to enjoy – the
indoor Cougar Dome beside CEC and the outdoor Truro Tennis Club in Victoria Park.
With the arrival of summer weather, the public is invited to come out to play tennis at
either facility.
As a special feature of the national Tennis Month, the Truro Tennis Club is offering
special events for players to enjoy. On June 14 at 10 to 11am there will be a Try Tennis
session for new players 7 to 11 years old. At 11am to 12pm junior players 12 years and
over are invited. And, at 12pm adults are welcome to enjoy a lesson led by Tennis Pro
Skylar. In case of rain June 14, the sessions will be moved to the next day June 15.
There will also be several free Try Tennis sessions available for adults of all skill and
experience levels in June, including June 12 at 7pm, June 14 – 12pm, June 21 – 10am,
July 5 – 10am, July 9 – 12pm, and July 10 – 7pm.
